Homeschooling in Puerto Rico

Flag_of_Puerto_Rico.svg_-300x200Puerto Rico’s education laws do not specifically address homeschooling, but the Constitution of Puerto Rico states that “Everyone has the right to an education directed to the full development of his personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and the fundamental freedoms,” and that “No public money or property for the support of schools will be used for educational institutions other than the state.”  Home schools in Puerto Rico are considered to be “non-government” and are not recognized or regulated by law and cannot grant high school diplomas but do issue transcripts stating that the student has completed relevant educational studies.
