Oklahoma is the only state that recognizes the right to home school as part of its constitution. The Oklahoma constitution says that attendance is required “at some public or other school…for at least three months in each year.”
It is generally agreed that “other school” includes homeschooling. The state has no other laws governing homeschooling. Oklahoma Statute Title 70 Section 10 lists reading, writing, math, science, citizenship, United States Constitution, health, safety, physical education and conservation as courses that must be included in either public school or home school instruction.
