A Nevada parent wishing to homeschool their children must only file a Notice of Intent (NOI) to Homeschool with their local Superintendent of schools in order to have their child excused from Nevada compulsory public school attendance requirements. The NOI must be filed only once at the beginning of the child’s homeschool attendance. There is no need to re-file unless the address of the child or parent changes. A completed NOI must include a plan of instruction for the child in the areas of English (including reading, composition and writing), mathematics, science and social studies (including history, geography, economics and government). The plan of instruction includes only a listing of the subjects to be taught, not specific course content.
