Science 5 (Credit: 1.00)

From the smallest living plant and animal cells to simple life forms and complex organisms, this course guides 5th graders to explore the structure of cells and their functions as the building blocks of life. Students also investigate life cycles and the fine balance necessary for the healthy ecosystems. As a part of a complete learning management system, Ignitia 5th Grade Science is a self-directed course infused with technology-based lessons, tools, and exercises to enrich learning for students, and streamline instruction and administrative tasks for teachers. Like all Ignitia courses, Bible verses (KJV) and biblical references support the development of a Christian worldview and encourage practical Christian living.

This science course was designed to be academically rigorous, promote digital literacy, and give students a biblical science perspective. Guided by their teacher, students will look at God's creation and how all living things rely on each other in His miraculous plan for our earth. They will also study fossil records from a Christ-centered point of view. The course units include text-based lessons, on and off computer exercises, special projects, learning games, quizzes, and tests that appeal to today's digital generation and help teachers to evaluate progress and mastery of the materials. Ignitia 5th Grade Science enriches the educational experience for Christian school students and sparks a passion for learning.
