Florida: Digital Information Technology A (Credit: 1.00)

This course will provide a basic overview of current business and information systems and trends, and introduce student to skills required in academic and career environments. Computer operations will be explored and allow students to develop a basic understanding of hardware, peripherals, networks, operating systems and programming languages. The lessons are structured to engage students in understanding and skill development of keyboarding skills, as well as database, spreadsheet, presentation and word processing applications. With their new understanding of digital information technology, students will explore careers interests and see how knowledge of career outlooks and clusters can help streamline their career planning. Workplace skills and behaviors will be addressed to help prepare for success in careers, and students will develop resumes, cover letters and job applications to begin the development of their professional portfolio.
