Grade 13 - Electives

Spanish II (Credit: 1.00)

Take your students on a journey around the world as they build their Spanish proficiency and continue their exploration of Hispanic culture from Puerto Rico to South America. With an emphasis on more complex reading, writing, and communication, they will find out how to effectively communicate in this exciting world language. As a part of a complete learning management system, Spanish II is a self-directed elective infused with technology-based lessons, tools, and exercises to enrich learning for students and streamline instruction and administrative tasks for teachers. Like all Ignitia courses, Bible verses (KJV) and biblical references support the development of a Christian worldview and encourage practical Christian living.

As they travel throughout the world studying the culture of Hispanic people, students in this interactive elective will improve speaking, writing, listening, and reading, as they build their vocabulary, compose more complex sentences, and practice grammar and pronunciation skills. Communication skills grow as students become increasingly articulate in this pervasive romance language and examine the culture that lies beneath. The course units include text-based lessons, on and off-computer exercises, special projects, learning games, quizzes, and tests that appeal to today's digital generation and help teachers to evaluate progress and mastery of the materials. Spanish II enriches the educational experience for Christian school students and sparks a passion for learning.
