Created for the students in the information age, this one-semester course helps students master the skills necessary to communicate effectively in the workplace. From communications basics and workplace skills, to instruction on specific software applications, computer literacy is at the core of this practical course. As a part of a complete learning management system, Business Computer Information Systems IA is a self-directed course infused with technology-based lessons, tools, and exercises to enrich learning for students and streamline instruction and administrative tasks for teachers. Like all Ignitia courses, Bible verses (KJV) and biblical references support the development of a Christian worldview and encourage practical Christian living.

Today's students can prepare themselves for a world where communication and technology go hand in hand with this interactive and practical Ignitia course. Hands-on lessons support learning basic computer operations such as word processing, creating spreadsheets, and working within a database. In addition, students will learn important workplace skills and evaluate communication for effectiveness in the business world. The course units include text-based lessons, on and off-computer exercises, special projects, learning games, quizzes, and tests that appeal to today's digital generation and help teachers to evaluate progress and mastery of the materials.
