In Nutrition, Semester A, you will explore the foundational principles of nutrition science as you prepare for a career in nutrition, dietetics, or a related health field. You will learn how professionals evaluate and address dietary needs across diverse populations. Throughout the course, you will assess dietary guidelines, analyze nutrient functions, and evaluate food choices in relation to health outcomes. You will also study digestion, metabolism, and energy balance to understand how the body processes and uses nutrients. Additionally, you will examine food safety, cooking techniques, meal planning strategies, and dietary modifications for individuals with specific health conditions. Through critical analysis of nutritional research and application of evidence-based practices, you will develop the skills necessary to guide clients in making informed dietary choices and promoting long-term health.
